How to Receive Stock Alerts From Yahoo Finance via SMS

yahoo-finance-logoYahoo! Finance is a service that provides financial information and commentary with a focus on US markets.
In April of 2013, Yahoo shutdown some services including Yahoo SMS Alerts.

Prerequisites

You should have already created Yahoo account and EmailToSMS.com account.

Step one

Sign in to your EmailToSMS account and go to Dashboard. Select option Send emails to SMS from external services and Add a routing.

Step two

Now you have to create a new routing which will link newly generated email to your phone number. Click on “Add routing” button. On the new screen enter the phone number to which you want to receive Yahoo Finance notifications. The phone number has to be in international format without any + or 00 at the beginning.
After submitting the form you will be redirected back to the dashboard and you will see the newly generated email address.

Step three

Visit My Alerts in the Yahoo Finance page to get started in http://finance.yahoo.com/stock-alerts/
View the list of available alerts and click on “Stocks Watch”, select “Create New Alert”.

Step four

Click on “Add a new email” and enter the newly generated email address from EmailToSMS and confirm it. After a while you will receive a new SMS with link to confirm new email.

Step five

Enter the symbols and other information for the stocks you are watching in the form provided. In this example, we select Apple (APPL) stock and parameter “Price drops by %” with a value 1.   In “Deliver To” select your ETS email. With this alert, when price drops 1% we will receive a SMS.

How to Forward Emails from Gmail to SMS

Gmail_logo
Gmail is probably the most spread free mailbox in the world. If you want to be notified about all new received emails on your mobile phone through SMS, read next how to do that.

Prerequisites

You should have already created Gmail account (or Google apps account) and EmailToSMS.com account.

Step one

Sign in to your EmailToSMS account and go to Dashboard. Because Gmail needs to verify the email account to which you want to follow emails we can not select the first option – Send/forward emails to SMS from your mailbox. The reason is simple – we would not be able to receive the verification code. Because of this, select the second option – Send emails to SMS from external services (Gmail forwarding, notifications, alerts, etc.).

Step two

Now you have to create a new routing which will link newly generated email to your phone number. Click on “Add routing” button. On the new screen enter the phone number to which you want to receive Stripe notifications. The phone number has to be in international format without any + or 00 at the beginning.

After submitting the form you will be redirected back to the dashboard and you will see the newly generated email address.

Step three

Now sign in to your Gmail account and go to “Settings”. On the settings screen show “Forwarding and POP/IMAP” tab. Click on “Add a forwarding button” in the first part of this tab. A new model window will appear. Here enter the newly generated email address from EmailToSMS and confirm it.

Step four

After a while you will receive a new SMS with confirmation code. Go back to the Gmail forwarding settings page and verify email using this code. Do not forget to select this option instead of default “Disable forwarding” option. Now you are ready to receive notifications from your Gmail account.

Note: If you received SMS but without any confirmation code, check in EmailToSMS settings the “Max size of SMS” value. Value 2 should be sufficient.

Tip: If you receive too much emails, filter only the most important ones for notifications. Below the list of forwarding email is a link called “creating a filter” which allows you to create such a filter.

We accept credit cards now!

In order to provide to our customers multiple payment options, we decided to integrate credit card payment gateway as additional to the current PayPal option. As technological infrastructure we decided to choose the world leading credit card payment provider – Stripe. Stripe is the fastest growing credit card processor in these days and allows collecting payments worldwide in 135 currencies.

Due to security reasons all the communication is encrypted using SSL certificate and all sensitive data is stored outside our infrastructure – directly on Stripe’s server.

Integration of Stripe allowed us to implement another useful feature – automatic top up of account when balance goes below €5.00. This feature is optional and for those who active it ensures uninterruptible email to sms service providing.
